What to do when your car breaks down?

About a week ago we were in Nashville looking at possible homes to rent and after a quick stop at Walmart to get lunch the car decided not to start. :( Not exactly fun, especially when you have two little kids in the car. Luckily we were directed to a Firestone Tire place about a quarter-mile away, so we loaded the kids up in the strollers and went for a walk. The guy at the store was nice enough to drive Ben back to the car and jump start it. Once they got it there they found out it was the alternator and battery that died and we were told it would take a couple hours to fix. So, what do you do in a tiny tire store for that long---I have no idea, that's why we walked right on back to Walmart. The pictures were taken there. I loved that Katelyn would sleep only when we were walking outside (probably because she kept her eyes closed to keep out the sun) but would wake up as soon as we entered a building.
"Hi, Mommy. What's that little shiny thing you are holding up?"
Landon finally crashed after a long, long day of looking at houses, being stuck in the car and walking aimlessly around Walmart.

Anyway, the car was fixed for about $500 and we made our way back home. We're just glad the car lasted us through graduate school. Our fingers are crossed it will last a couple more years...guess we'll see.

We know what that's like. Glad it wasn't worse and there was something to do nearby.

Wow! I wonder how much ground you covered on foot. It accumulates in Walmart for sure!
