What to do when your car breaks down?

About a week ago we were in Nashville looking at possible homes to rent and after a quick stop at Walmart to get lunch the car decided not to start. :( Not exactly fun, especially when you have two little kids in the car. Luckily we were directed to a Firestone Tire place about a quarter-mile away, so we loaded the kids up in the strollers and went for a walk. The guy at the store was nice enough to drive Ben back to the car and jump start it. Once they got it there they found out it was the alternator and battery that died and we were told it would take a couple hours to fix. So, what do you do in a tiny tire store for that long---I have no idea, that's why we walked right on back to Walmart. The pictures were taken there. I loved that Katelyn would sleep only when we were walking outside (probably because she kept her eyes closed to keep out the sun) but would wake up as soon as we entered a building.
"Hi, Mommy. What's that little shiny thing you are holding up?"
Landon finally crashed after a long, long day of looking at houses, being stuck in the car and walking aimlessly around Walmart.

Anyway, the car was fixed for about $500 and we made our way back home. We're just glad the car lasted us through graduate school. Our fingers are crossed it will last a couple more years...guess we'll see.

Monkey see, monkey do

Landon has always been a little afraid of the vacuum and watches it from the couch in my lap. So I was surprised that lately he's gotten kind of brave and waits for Ben to pass by and then jumps down and grabs his own vacuum and follows his daddy around.
Here Daddy lets Landon try the big one (turned off of course).

He's got a Master's

We did it...well, Ben did. He graduated with his Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology! I'm so very proud of him. Not only was he the only married student among his classmates, but he was the only daddy too. AND SOMEHOW HE STILL GOT GREAT GRADES!
I found a babysitter and actually made it to watch his graduation ceremony. I was so proud watching him walk across the stage. That's MY man:)
Here he is holding his diploma case (the real deal comes in a couple weeks).
Now we just need to find a job. But at least the school part is over and done with. Good job, honey!

Four years!

HAPPY FOUR YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!
It has been a fun filled four years since we said "I DO." We have come so very far. Ben has gotten both his undergrad and graduate degree, we've had two beautiful kids and are now looking forward to our next adventure which is the wonderful world of corporate America (we just have to see where Ben gets hired). It was so hard to find a photo of just the two of us that I just decided to take a new one self-portrait style. We may be a little older, and a little (o.k. a lot) heavier, but we sure are happy. AND the best part is we have an eternity to go. Happy Anniversary to us..oh, yeah, and happy Cinco de Mayo.
